Better known on the Paizo messageboards and throughout the internet by the moniker "ancientsensei", Steven Helt is a major proponent of growing the tabletop RPG hobby. He was crowned the Iron DM winner for 2007-2008, the year that Paizo sponsored the contest, and cowrote the massive Ascension of the Drow event as a preview of the Second Darkness adventure path, with Dralkard Manor co-author Shane Cottom. Steven currently lives in Tulsa, OK, with his wife and four daughters and constantly struggles to balance family with his burgeoning freelance writing career. Mr. Helt has been characterized as lawful neutral with both the good and evil subtypes.
In April 2013, Helt was declared the winner of Paizo Publishing's annual RPG Superstar design contest. His winning Pathfinder Module, Tears at Bitter Manor, was released in March 2014.
