Destructive cousins to magma dragons, lava drakes delight in terrorizing weaker creatures near their volcanic homes. Larger, and more powerfully built, than other drakes, lava drakes are as arrogant as their much smarter true dragon cousins. Naturally stealthy, they are able leverage their ability to submerge and burrow through molten rock to approach and terrorize prey.

Covered in thick scales of protective black volcanic rock, they launch area attacks devastating to all who are not protected from the intense heat in which they dwell.1
