Ashmedes are a relatively rare species of devil who almost always stay in the deepest levels of Hell, where they work as judges and executioners. The few times encountered on the Material Plane, they instead serve as assassins of heretics, traitors or failures. An ashmede resembles a contorted humanoid made out of both flesh and iron, with a huge pair of bat wings.1
