Avilan is one of the numerous massive cities that dot the Qadiran region of the Plains of Paresh, but is often overshadowed by the capital of Katheer. Located along the banks of the Pashman River, the grassy plains around Al-Varish are still roamed by semi-nomadic tribes of herdsmen who have existed here for millennia. Al-Varish is a trade city but, like much of the rest of the Plains of Paresh, is loud in its clamouring for war with the neighbouring Kingdom of Taldor.12
