Corrupted relics are haunted objects who anchor the undead spirit of their former owners. Their appearance, abilities, and even method of manifestation vary significantly between relics. The former owner of the relic keeps the object pristine and jealously guards it from acquisition by inquisitive adventurers. Often, the easiest method of dealing with the unquiet spirit is simply to destroy the relic in question, though those who are able to successfully banish the corrupting presence without damage to the object are often rewarded with a powerful item to aid their travels.1
