Since 4717 AR, Firebrands from across the Inner Sea region have gathered annually on a mid-Sarenith weekend to celebrate their accomplishments, meet new comrades, catch up with old ones, and organize their next daring adventure, rescue, or rebellion. These meetings are known as the Vaunter's Carnival, which moves to a different port city each year.1

History

The first Vaunter's Carnival was a spontaneous celebration outside Augustana by the carnival workers of Arnabus Clout's Eyecatching Amusements, following Clout's ouster by the second-mark Firebrands of the Ruby Tercet. Since the carnival's reorganization under the name Wonderment and the leadership of Tanglehop, one of its raconteurs, and Tilri Venler, one of the Ruby Tercet, the Vaunter's Carnival has convened around:2

Tilri, Tanglehop, and the rest of the organizational committee require that a host city possess either a large park or coliseum, or ample space outside the city, as well as plenty of shelter and food for attendees, and good land and sea access; both for the convenience of attendees and to minimize disruption for the locals.3 For 4723 AR, candidate cities included Merab, Oppara, and Xin-Shalast.4
