Talk:Ostovite/Conflicts

From PathfinderWiki

Creature Type [Resolved]

When first introduced in the Pathfinder Tales novel Nightblade, published 2014, ostovites were classified as demons in the Glossary on page 374. They were written up more fully in Bestiary 5, published in 2015, and were reclassified as a magical beast. For creature statistics, Bestiaries take precedence in PathfinderWiki:Canon policy, so ostovites are classed as magical beasts in this wiki. -Fleanetha (talk) 18:01, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Pathfinder Second Edition Bestiary 3 reclassifies them again with the Fiend trait rather than the Beast trait, but also clarifies they are neither demonic nor qlippoth.
The physical description, culture, and ecology of ostovites in Bestiary 3 and Zombie Feast also expand upon or conflict with the non-canon descriptions in Bestiary 5, which have been removed. For the version of the article prior to those removals, see the article history. -Oznogon (talk) 20:48, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
