Murzle is the leader of a tribe of twelve mites who took residence in the abandoned Valdemar Manor in Sandpoint, after being exiled from a larger gremlin tribe in the Pit. For more than a year, they have been trying to ward off intruders by making the manor look haunted. Murzle lurks deep in the house, beyond the basement's walls, in a tunnel that connects to the Pit, and is always guarded by two mites riding giant spiders.
