Wihsaaks are sahkils that prey on the fear of creeping, crawling, and buzzing insects.1

Appearance

A vanth psychopomp fights a wihsaak sahkil to protect the souls of the dead.

A wihsaak is a gaunt creature held above the ground by buzzing insectile wings, with a grasshopper for a head. Their claws are sharp enough to rip and tear flesh as easily as paper. Wihsaaks prefer to blatantly present their unnerving forms to frighten mortals.1

Abilities

A wihsaak can beat its wings to create a maddening droning sound that numbs the mind of intelligent creatures.1

Ecology

Wihsaaks coerce victims into terrifying circumstances and make them believe that their horrific actions are their own ideas. Wihsaaks savour the fear of their targets, drawing it as long as possible. Against multiple foes, wihsaaks try to frighten as many as possible before finishing them off with their claws.1
