Impaler of thorns

The impaler of thorns is a type of magical longspear created in the ancient Thassilonian empire. Its shaft is made of darkwood and its head is a thorn-shaped, wide-bladed barb. Particularly damaging blows cause the impaler to emit an animal-like scream, which can be quite unsettling to hear. Once per day the user can release a wave of despair and sorrow which effects nearby creatures, causing them to loose their focus and concentration and in some circumstances become nauseated.[1]
