Trying to write a new creature article
I read Help:Writing an article about a creature, and it was helpful but seems focused on first edition. There are some second edition monsters so maybe it's out of date, but I'm not sure if I did Gimmerling correctly. Can someone please take a look? Thanks! — ellep (talk) 05:36, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

- Looks good, ellep - a solid addition to our wiki, thanks - nice use of language to avoid plagiarism, and the page is dressed correctly for the wiki. I have made a few tweaks and will explain them here alongside some general comments:
- first, you selected the right template - 2E creature. If you don't have the 1E stats / there were no 1E stats published, that is the best template to choose and populate, leaving any lines for unknown information blank, as you have also correctly done. Looking at a previously finished page can help too, but gimmerling now acts as a good example of a 2E creature.
- I removed LE as a trait as we handle that in 'alignment'.
- I hid 'small' as a trait as, currently, we are not adding size traits to the wiki. Maybe we should?
- I populated 'adjective' as we have that in the text.
- I populated 'imagesof' with the plural version of the creature in lower case.
- Citations and structure are fine
- I added some links to pages we have on the wiki
- It looks like you used the 'Article template toolbox' - that helps a lot to dress the page correctly.
- I added the required 2E categories as requested. Again, if you are unsure about 1E stuff, leave it, as someone who does have that data can fill it in later for you.
- I created the new Category:Gimmerling for you.
- I hope that's all clear but please do ask if not. The page is ready for you to finish now, if you have more work to do, otherwise you can remove the PBII flag on an excellent new page. --Fleanetha (talk) 15:11, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
