A tome of living runes is a metal-bound book with 20 thin copper pages. Each page has shifting and unintelligible Thassilonian runes. A successful study of the page causes the runes on a page to meld together into a single rune that jumps off the page. This rune can be used as a living rune, to help disable a trap made of magical writing, or as a material component for a spell involving magical writing. The page goes blank after use.
