Maintenance, repair, and security of the Clockwork Cathedral in Absalom are entirely managed by constructs colloquially known as Thumpers for their loud gait.12

Admittance to the Cathedral is controlled by a governing body known as the Ruling Escarpment. The Escarpment is never seen or spoken to directly by living beings. All messages, tuition payments, and faculty salaries are handled by Thumpers.1

Appearance

Thumpers are squat, rounded clockwork beings.1
