Deity Voltron

In some older material like Heart of the Jungle, Shimye-Magalla was described as a singular new deity made from the amalgamation of Desna and Gozreh. This has been confirmed to be an error. Per the canon policy, production errors are not canon. - HTD (talk) 03:12, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Shimye-Magalla is a good example of something that snuck into canon accidentally and presented something in a way that was not aligned with my vision for the setting as Creative Director. I've no problem with there being pantheons of deities in the setting, as that makes a lot of sense, and Desna and Gozreh being a mini-pantheon in this way is an interesting pairing for sure... but having them "merge together" into one Deity Voltron is illogical from a world-building standpoint in our setting. It should have never seen print in 1st edition in the way it did[...]
Cult of Cinders canonized the in-universe publication of theories by Gerhard Pendergrast suggesting Shimye-Magalla was one entity, and also describes them as inaccurate and Pendergrast as willing to destroy evidence suggesting otherwise. I've restored mentions of this as in-universe context for the retcon. -Oznogon (talk) 02:33, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
