Taldas Isle

Taldas Isle.

Taldas Isle is a picturesque isle southwest of Motaku in the Shackles. Danziul Maxeme wrenched the island from a minor pirate lord in 4656 AR. His two granddaughters, Iolandra and Petrina Maxeme, now rule the island as pirate lords.1

History

Maxeme who was a minor noble of Taldor was tasked by his proconsul with eliminating piracy in the Inner Sea. Maxeme was quite successful in executing this charter until his flotilla captured a pirate galleon called the Singing Duchess who was captained by Ianetra Chareoth, a beautiful free captain of Taldan descent. She utterly captivated Maxeme who decided to win an island for her. He sailed to the Shackles with his fleet and conquered the little isle. He renamed the isle Taldas and its only settlement Little Oppara, remaking it to mirror Oppara so that his new wife might live as a noblewoman. The story says that they lived happily ever after. Some believe the true story is much less romantic and Maxeme decided to go rogue himself because of the gold he found aboard the pirate ships he captured.1

Description

Little Oppara is a small city that feels like a tiny district of the metropolis of Oppara. The rest of Taldas Isle is largely wilderness made up of sprawling plains interrupted by though thickets and small forests, populated by wild beasts. Skittish red deer and wild pigs roam the hills throughout central Taldas, and peacocks live in the northwestern part of the isle.1
