Foreword: "Back to Varisia" by James Jacobs (4)
- Paizo Creative Director James Jacobs reflects on where the Pathfinder Adventure Path line has gone over its five year history, and discusses the line's 11th series—the Shattered Star Adventure Path, which this volume launches. The foreword provides insight into what events are assumed to have occurred prior to this AP's start, as it's the first true sequel yet published in the line. Additionally, Jacobs provides several side missions the PCs can undertake while adventuring in and under Magnimar.
1. "Shards of Sin" by Greg A. Vaughan (6)
- Newly recruited Pathfinders are gathered by Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch to track down Natalya Vancaskerkin, a missing agent. Heidmarch suspects Vancaskerkin has been cursed by a piece of the Shattered Star (also called the Sihedron). The players must recover this piece - the Shard of Pride and find a way to nullify the shard's curse. Once they do, the shard gives a vision to the next missing piece, which happens to be in a piling of the Irespan, also in Magnimar. Battling guardians and traps dating back to Thassilon, the players eventually recover the Shard of Greed.
- "NPC Gallery" by Greg A. Vaughan (60)
- "Shattered Star Treasures" by Greg A. Vaughan (64)
2. "The Shattered Star" by James Jacobs (66)
- This in-depth article provides all the history and statistics of the legendary Thassilonian relic known as the Sihedron and its now shattered seven shards. Because each of the seven-pointed star's arms was forged from a different skymetal, the properties of each mysterious and rare substance are divulged here for the first time.
3. "Old Friends" (Light of a Distant Star 1 of 6) by Bill Ward (72)
- The tale of Taldara Meirlanel and her companions who foray into the even seedier underbelly of Riddleport.
4. "Bestiary" by Benjamin Bruck, Craig Campbell, Adam Daigle, Amanda Hamon, and James Wilbur (76)
5. "Unearthing the Past" (90)
- The six installments of the Shattered Star Adventure Path are previewed.
