The shadowcallers of the Dusk Hall in Nidal's capital, Pangolais, are students and masters of the Kuthite arts of shadowcasting. Nearly all shadowcallers are wizards who survived years of brutal training as children, learning to harness and focus pain—their own as well as others'—into divinely enhanced arcane power. Shadowcallers also learn to summon and bind creatures from the Plane of Shadow into the Material Plane, and are prized interrogators often assigned to assist in Chelish counter-insurgency operations.

History

Shadowcallers fought alongside the forces of House Thrune during the Chelish Civil War (4606 – 4640 AR).
