Master Raneiro was a fencing master in the Varisian city of Korvosa until he was poisoned, during the reign of Queen Domina, while in the guise of the freedom fighter called Blackjack. Among his pupils he counted Count Varian Jeggare and Vencarlo Orisini.[1]
