Organization

Orik Vancaskerkin (pronounced ORE-ick van-CASK-ker-kin),1 a not-so-lucky professional soldier, landed himself into some trouble in his hometown of Riddleport when he killed an alchemist for having sold him a counterfeit elixir of love which he had intended to use upon a cambion prostitute named Lavender Lil. As that alchemist was the brother of Clegg Zincher, one of Riddleport's powerful crime lords, Orik was forced to leave town, never to return. His journeys eventually took him to Magnimar, where he encountered a small bandit group led by the fallen empyrean Nualia Tobyn and became a hired mercenary for that group.2

Family

Orik's father is Saul Vancaskerkin, and Damon Vancaskerkin is one of his two uncles. He also has a younger brother named Verik,3 an older half-sister from his father named Natalya Vancaskerkin,4 and a younger half-sister from his mother named Lullaby Vancaskerkin. His mother was the former wife of Saul's other brother, whose name is unknown and who later left her husband for Saul.56
