A dagger—known by many names, including dirk—is an easily concealable fighting knife often less than one foot long. Daggers might have one or two edges, or curved or straight blades, and have many variants. They can be wielded in melee combat or thrown.

Variants

Emil Kovkorin wields a punching dagger in his left hand.

The dagger pistol combines a coat pistol with a dagger blade.

Hunga mungas, which also have many names, are three-bladed daggers designed for throwing.

The small kerambit is a curved dagger with a metal loop that aids in concealment.

A lungchuan tamo consists of two throwing daggers concealed in a baton.

Punching daggers, or katars, incorporate a perpendicular hilt that allows them to be wielded in a fist grip.
