Joss was the bosun's mate on the pirate ship called the Stargazer, captained by Torius Vin. He was a solid pirate with a gap-toothed grin.¹ He was killed by a cecaelia in an engagement with the Osirian Navy in 4713 AR.²³ He was replaced as bosun's mate by Fenric.⁴
