Josiah Common, also known as Josiah Tongue-Cutter, Sy the Fork, Joe Fork-Cutter, or Tragic Joe, was a pirate captain of the Whelk based out of the Shackles.1 Josiah Tongue-Cutter had served beneath both Tessa Fairwind and the wolf captain Avimar Sorrinash, he was also believed to be in league with the beast captain Kered Firsk. Josiah had a glass eye and some even joked he secretly had two glass eyes.2 Josiah was killed while raiding the settlement of Moonplum in the Kaava Lands; he was succeeded as captain of the Whelk by Strane Trafton.3
