A giant rat, sometimes termed a dire rat, is a rodent of quite unusual size, growing up to two feet in length and weighing upwards of 25 pounds; its fur is generally coarse and matted, with a long, scabrous tail.¹

On Golarion

A pack of giant rats known as the Rats of Karneik have long preyed upon the town of Chastel in the Ustalavic county of Lozeri.²
