Frightful haunters are incorporeal undead bugbears whose desire to spread pain and misery outlived the creature itself.

Appearance

A frightful haunter resembles a dark, indistinct humanoid mist except for its claws and hairy, fanged face.

Ecology

Frightful haunters can detach part of their evil nature to build haunts, and when possible prefer to tailor-fit them to the fears and weaknesses of their foes. Frightful haunters rarely confront prey directly, preferring to create haunts and fleeing to other prepared locations.
