Canalee Braeton is the wife of Arhaneem Braeton, a rich river merchant in the small Varisian town of Ilsurian. Arhaneem's family live in the largest estate in the town, the Braeton Manor, located on the top of the hill upon which the town was built. Their children are their son, Martim, and Summer, their daughter. The family frequently invite business partners to the mansion for private dinners. Canalee believes propriety matters, and refuses to allow Varisians or other "undesirable sorts" to attend any functions at the manor.
