Amahlia of Steyr is the current devotee of the goddess Iomedae to act as the sole defender of the ruins of the Rake Island Bridge in the Hold of Belkzen. In 4237 AR, a small number of Lastwall soldiers gave their lives defending this pass over the River Esk from a besieging orc army. Because of their sacrifice, a much larger force of soldiers and civilians were able to flee south to safety, after which, Iomedae's herald, the Hand of the Inheritor, declared that the site of the Battle of Lost Hope would be sacred to the goddess. Amahlia is the most recent of a long line of the faithful who have guarded the place, supported by angels and archons any time the orcs attempt to retake it, but is looking to pass the honored (but lonely) position on to the next generation.
