Varisian tattoos
From PathfinderWiki
Body adornment is common among Varisians, and many carry intricate tattoos as well. Most are chosen for sentimental or artistic reasons, but most often represent actual physical objects. Some choose symbolic tattoos that are tied to particular Varisian traditions or magic, even though the true meaning behind these symbols has long been forgotten. Seven-pointed stars are a common such symbol, representing strength and magic. Others include symbols important to their patron goddess, Desna: butterflies, birds, or iridescent wings, which symbolize freedom and fortunetelling. Feathers, wings, or colored circles are another common tattoo, which make reference to angelic beings or guardian spirits.[1]
