Valdemar Manor

From PathfinderWiki

Located at 30 Schooner Gulch Road12 on a small peninsula overlooking Sandpoint Harbor,3 Valdemar Manor was the residence of the Valdemar family, one of the four that founded the town and led its shipbuilding and fishing industries, which continue strongly to this day.4 It is connected to the town via the Schooner Gulch Road, which joins the Lost Coast Road before crossing over the Turandarok River.3

History

The manor was home to Sandpoint's oldest remaining town founder, Ethram Valdemar, until his death. As of 4724 AR, Ethram's only surviving son is Kaleb Valdemar, who subsequently relocated to Magnimar with the town's remaining Valdemars. Kaleb returns periodically to manage family business in town but never stays at the manor, heightening rumors that he intends to sell it.2

Locals also believe the house is haunted, and children of Sandpoint often engage in dares to spend a night alone in the manor. Other rumors suggest the Valdemars have hidden a fortune within the manor.1

Inhabitants

In truth, Ethram and Kaleb had engaged in ritualistic consumption of midnight milk in the manor in an attempt to defeat death. Ethram died, and Kaleb was instead possessed and consumed by the xoarian Tiluatchek5 who assumed his body and identity and set about making the manor an extension of the Midnight Dawn, a secret society devoted to the expansion of xoarian influence.6 Toward this end, the xoarians controlling the Valdemars have recruited the ghast alchemist Kanker and local alchemist Aliver Podiker.7

The manor's basement is also infested with gremlins organized by Murzle, a jinkin sorcerer.89
