Talk:Kitumu

From PathfinderWiki

General comments

A good article so far, but I have a few comments. When as little is known about a subject as Kitumu, we generally don't create multiple sub-headings for the various subjects, but combine everything into one larger paragraph. This saves us from having one- or two-sentence entries for them.

Also, we try to create longer paragraphs about any given sub-element, even if what is known about it could only realistically fill one sentence. We expand on these sub-elements, generally, by putting them into some sort of context. This also helps the readability of the article, as single sentences (even on related subjects) put close together make for a jarring reading experience.

As always, please let me know if you have specific questions. --Brandingopportunity 19:48, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

No, that all makes sense - thanks for the amendments - looks good. Shame about the image - I wanted a way of making a reader aware there was an image of the goddess available (but one, of course, I couldn't reproduce here). I confess I didn't like tremendously what I did a it looked ugly, if functional. Any better ideas?--Fleanetha 20:03, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Not really, sadly. We can only use certain images under the Community Use Policy, and when we don't have one, we just leave it blank. We also try to keep the wiki self-contained and not post external links whenever possible. --Brandingopportunity 21:11, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
This got me thinking (always dangerous). What do people think about a template (similar to the spoiler one - maybe with a blue background) saying "There is a picture of the subject of this article on (product) page (page)" That wouldn't be breaking the CUP, and would let others know where the pictures are. Also it might make it easier for bots to find and update them if, for some reason, they become part of the CUP later... and its a little less invasive than having it in the info box as Fleanetha had it -- Cpt kirstov 21:18, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not opposed to the idea Cpt kirstov suggests. In fact, it would allow us to point to many images on artists' portfolios, such as on deviantArt, where I've been compiling all Paizo/Pathfinder art for some time in my favorites folder.—Yoda8myhead 21:26, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Makes sense to me. --Brandingopportunity 21:41, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
aye aye cap'n--Fleanetha 22:56, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
I started playing with this on my user page, mostly stolen from the spoiler template. I don't have time to work on it any more til friday... so if someone wants to take it up, feel free. Also, I wasn't sure how to word it to include the artist portfolios the way Yoda mentioned -- Cpt kirstov 03:56, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
