Pathfinder RPG Beta Playtest

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Beta Playtest was released as a free PDF in August 2008 and in a softcover print edition at Gen Con 2008 as part of the Pathfinder RPG playtest, then sold through the Paizo store and retailers, making it the first Pathfinder Roleplaying Game product.¹ The beta rules were the result of extensive public playtesting and expanded the content and options to produce a standalone game. The Beta release's content was refined into the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook.
