Durgan Rane was the chairman of the Cailean Council, one of the Revolutionary Councils that ruled Galt for a short period of time. Under his leadership, Galt changed the alphabet for Common, along with the names for the days of the week. It also instituted martial law and mandatory conscription. Rane was killed in a putsch by his own, newly disciplined soldiers soon thereafter.
