could we get the Category suggest extension, or something similar added - its what i miss most about wikia, without it I keep forgetting to add categories

This seems like a great idea/program but I have no technical knowledge to implement it, still anything to make categorisation easier would be a welcome addition.

Yes. This has been on my incredibly disorganized to-do list for a long time. I will look at it shortly. Also, shame is a powerful motivator. If you don't see an update on this in a couple of days, ask me again.

So I had a look at this and remembered why I didn't install it in the first place. The extension hasn't been maintained for somt time, and it doesn't work in our newer version of MediaWiki. I've looked at trying to get it to work, but php isn't really my thing. I've also looked around for comparable extensions, but I haven't been able to find anything. I've also looked on wikia's public trac server for the code to the extension that they used, but I haven't found it yet (that thing is a mess). I'm going to move on to other things for now, but if anybody finds a wiki that uses some sort of fancy category extension, let me know and I'll have a look at what they're using.
